Self-training,
at your own risk.
Open gym is practice time, not a class. These are the rules you sign on your first visit, in plain English.
- No coaching from staff. You decide what to work on. Beginners are welcome, but if you’ve never trained, a private lesson is the safer start (see the overview page).
- No insurance. Free members are not covered by sports insurance. Anything that happens on the floor is your own responsibility.
- Elementary-school children need a guardian with them. Older kids and teens can train on their own.
- Paid coaching needs a registration. Teaching your own clients during open gym requires the paid-coaching registration (¥11,000 a year for the coach, and both coach and client pay the time fee). Unregistered paid coaching can get the coach banned.
- Share the space. Three nights a week, locals and visitors train side by side. Check landing zones before you go.
- Holidays and extra sessions are announced on Instagram Stories. Check @pk_guild1 on the day, especially around Japanese public holidays.
What’s inside.
Boxes, bars and rails are moved around the floor, so the course changes from night to night. The whole gym was built by hand inside an empty warehouse, pit included. The full story and more photos are on the facility page.
Come back often,
and rank up.
Every open-gym visit is counted. Your first registration gives you a D-rank guild card. From 30 visits you can take a rank test and move up to C, B, A, S, SS and SSS, with perks like free sessions and permanent discounts. Not essential for a one-week visit, but if Osaka becomes your base, the ladder is there.
Ranks, visit counts and perks
| Rank | Visits | Test fee | Perk |
|---|---|---|---|
| D | Registration (¥1,100) | ─ | D-rank card, open-gym access |

| B | 50 | ¥2,000 | One free full session, access to the Rekisen class |

Retaking a test costs ¥500. Discounts apply to visits of 2 hours or more.
Quick answers.
Do I need to book?
Please let us know before you come. Regulars use our LINE account or an online booking system in Japanese. For visitors, a short Instagram message with the date and number of people is enough. Registration itself is done at the desk on the day.
How much is a first visit?
¥1,100 registration plus your time: ¥1,400 for 1 hour, ¥2,200 for 2 hours or ¥3,200 for the full session (¥1,200 / ¥2,000 / ¥3,000 if you follow us on Instagram). Cash.
Is there any coaching?
Not during open gym. If you want a coach, PK Guild offers 60-minute private lessons and a monthly adult class, both taught in Japanese. Details are on the English overview page.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and a drink. Remove accessories and tie back long hair. Bring cash.
Can my kids train?
Elementary-school children must be accompanied by a guardian. Open gym has no coaching and no insurance, so it suits kids who already train. Our kids classes run in Japanese only.
Is the gym open on holidays?
Holidays, closures and extra sessions are posted on Instagram Stories first. Check @pk_guild1 on the day you plan to come.
